Events across the United States have been selected to participate in a pilot program in 2008. These "seedling" events will go through the certification process with a dual purpose: to assess the event's environmental and social footprint and to evaluate the CRS Standards in a real-world setting. In late 2008, the pilot program will culminate in a refined set of standards and processes in place to begin certifying events in 2009.
